Digital Pōwhiri is a wero, a challenge, tackling questions of privilege and power. The warriors’ haka is extended into a high-tech ritual that dynamically links ancestors with the living.
This work blurs the boundaries between science and art, combining Māori, Polynesian and global dance forms with multi-screen film and graphics, to create a mind-altering physical and sensory experience.
